JOHN DOBIAS MEMORIAL

4 HOURS OF MONZA | OFFICIAL RACE RULES

EVENT FORMAT

  • Event: John Dobias Memorial 4 Hours of Monza
  • Date: November 7th, 2026
  • Circuit: Autodromo Nazionale Monza
  • Race Length: 4 Hours
  • Classes: GTP & GT3
  • Format: Multiclass Endurance
  • Broadcast: Racer Nexus

ENTRY FEE & ENTRY FORMAT

  • Entry Fee: $30 per entry
  • Drivers may enter solo or as part of a team.
  • Teams may consist of 2-4 drivers.
  • Solo entries are eligible for the same race results, class standings, and cash prizes as team entries.
  • Each entry must compete under a single registered team or driver name.
  • All drivers participating as part of a team must be registered with that entry prior to the event.
  • 50% of entry fees will go toward supporting the Dobias family.
  • 50% of entry fees will fund the primary event prize pool.
  • The final prize pool will be determined by the total number of registered entries.
  • Any applicable SimGrid or payment-processing fees will be accounted for separately.

The more entries we receive, the more support we can provide John's family and the larger the prize pool becomes.

Our goal: Fill the grid for John.

CASH PRIZE STRUCTURE

The primary cash prize pool will be divided equally between the GTP and GT3 classes.

Each class will receive 50% of the total prize pool, with payouts within each class distributed as follows:

🏆 1st Place

50% of class prize pool

🥈 2nd Place

30% of class prize pool

🥉 3rd Place

20% of class prize pool

Both classes will have an identical payout structure.

Example: $1,000 in Entry Fees

If the event generates $1,000 in total entry fees:

  • $500 → Dobias family
  • $500 → Cash prize pool
  • $250 → GTP prize pool
  • $250 → GT3 prize pool

Each class would pay:

  • 1st: $125
  • 2nd: $75
  • 3rd: $50

Final cash prize amounts will be based on the actual number of registered entries.

SPONSOR PRIZES & SPECIAL AWARDS

In addition to the primary cash prize pool, additional prizes and awards may be provided by event sponsors and supporters.

Sponsor prizes may be awarded for:

  • Finishing positions
  • Class finishing positions
  • Randomly selected finishing positions
  • Special race accomplishments
  • Hard Charger or other performance-based achievements
  • Fun or unique race achievements
  • Other sponsor-selected accolades

Sponsor prizes will be announced as they are finalized.

You don't have to win the race to win something.

Our goal is to give as many drivers and entries as possible an opportunity to walk away with something from the event while allowing our sponsors to play a meaningful role in John's memorial.

CAR & CLASS

  • The event will feature GTP and GT3 classes.
  • Each entry must register for one class.
  • Entries may select any eligible car within their chosen class.
  • Car selection must be finalized prior to the event.
  • Car changes after registration may be restricted once the event roster is finalized.
  • All cars will compete under the applicable iRacing sporting and setup parameters established for the event.

RACE FORMAT

  • The race will run for 4 hours.
  • GTP and GT3 will compete simultaneously on track.
  • This is a multiclass endurance event.
  • Solo drivers may compete for the full duration of the event.
  • Teams may divide driving duties between their registered drivers.
  • Teams are responsible for their own driver rotation and pit strategy.
  • Fuel strategy, tire management, pit stops, and driver changes are the responsibility of each entry.
  • Official finishing results will be determined by iRacing and verified by FMA race control.

DRIVER CHANGES

For team entries:

  • Driver changes must be completed using the standard iRacing driver-change procedure.
  • Only registered drivers may participate as part of an entry.
  • Teams are responsible for ensuring their driver changes are completed correctly.
  • Teams may determine their own driver rotation and stint strategy.
  • Any technical problems affecting a driver change should be reported to race control as soon as possible.

Solo entries may remain with the same driver for the entire event.

FINAL NOTE

This event is competitive, but it is about something bigger than the result.

We're here to race.

We're here to honor John.

We're here to support his family.

And we're here to bring the sim racing community together for one hell of an endurance race.

Enter solo. Build a team. Bring your friends.
