SBL Racing – AMERICAN PROTOTYPE CHAMPIONSHIP

The American Prototype Championship is a multiclass championship featuring LMP2 ELMS and LMP3, with a maximum of 38 drivers.

Championship Format

  • 5 events: Laguna Seca, Daytona, Long Beach, Road Atlanta and Sebring
  • 25 min Free Practice
  • 10 min Qualifying
  • 60 min Race
  • Open Setups
  • Realistic Damage

  • Strict Track Limits
  • 10 tyre sets per event

Championship System

  • Separate standings for LMP2 and LMP3
  • Points awarded to the top 10 of each class
  • One dropped result is applied at the end of the season
  • Registration is completely free
  • Once a driver has completed their first race, their selected car cannot be changed
  • Official Discord membership is mandatory: https://discord.gg/AmW6pwvaxG

Racing Standards

The championship is based on clean, respectful and competitive racing.
Drivers are expected to:

  • Respect other competitors and race officials
  • Leave sufficient space when racing alongside another car
  • Make no more than one defensive move on a straight
  • Avoid moving under braking
  • Rejoin the track safely
  • Respect blue flags
  • Avoid dangerous or unnecessary manoeuvres

The first lap is subject to stricter stewarding, as incidents at the beginning of the race can have a significant impact on the entire field.

Stewarding & Penalties

Race incidents are reviewed by the Stewards when necessary. Penalties can include time penalties, penalty points and race bans, depending on the severity and recurrence of the infringement.
Every driver starts with 2 penalty points, with a maximum of 6 before a race ban is applied. Clean races allow drivers to recover penalty points.

Protests

Drivers can submit protests regarding race incidents or issues caused by the game. Protests must follow the procedure established by the championship and, for incidents involving another driver, must be supported by clear video evidence.
The full regulations contain all details regarding the penalty system, race conduct, protests and exceptional situations.
Please read the complete regulation before participating in the championship.
