POSITIVE PERCEPTION LMU - SEASON 7

RULES & PROCEDURES

Welcome to Season 7 of Positive Perception Le Mans Ultimate. Following a community vote, this season sees the return of a classic endurance racing format featuring LMP2 (ELMS version) and LMGT3 machinery. The goal remains exactly the same as previous seasons: clean, competitive, respectful racing where drivers of all experience levels can enjoy multi-class competition. While this championship is competitive, we never lose sight of the fact that we're all here to enjoy ourselves.

Our Focus: Clean racing. Good community spirit. Competitive but respectful multi-class competition.

🏁 CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRY

Season 7 is limited to a maximum grid of 38 drivers due to track limitations. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis through SimGrid. Competitors who wish to compete will have to enter the Positive Perception Racing Discord first and have the LMU Driver role assigned before signing up. Positive Perception does not operate a reserve list for this championship. If a place becomes available, it is the responsibility of drivers to monitor SimGrid and secure the slot themselves.

🚗 CAR & CLASSES

LMP2 (ELMS Version)

The premier class for Season 7 featuring the ELMS specification of the LMP2. These cars are significantly faster than LMGT3 machinery and require patience and awareness when navigating traffic.

  • LMP2 Drivers Must: Plan overtakes carefully, take responsibility for completing passes safely, respect slower-class traffic, and avoid forcing moves in braking zones.

LMGT3

LMGT3 features two distinct sub-categories:

  • PRO: For experienced drivers and proven front-runners looking to compete at the sharp end of the grid.
  • AM: For developing and recreational drivers looking for fair, competitive, and enjoyable racing.

Admins reserve the right to reclassify drivers at any point during the season to maintain fair and competitive class racing.

🕒 EVENT FORMAT

  • Practice: 60 Minutes Free Practice
  • Qualifying: 20 Minutes (Private qualifying session)
  • Race Duration: 60 Minutes
  • Start Type: Rolling Start
  • Pit Lane: Open throughout session
  • Pit Stops: No mandatory pit stop
  • Drivers Briefing: A written briefing will be posted in the Positive Perception Discord server on race day.

⚖️ GENERAL RULES

Track Limits & Penalties

Track limits are monitored by the game. Any in-game penalties received will stand. Admins will not remove or overturn automated track limit penalties.

Tyre Warmers

  • Enabled: Tyre warmers are enabled to provide better racing action from the get-go and more control for varying driving abilities.

Pit Lane

Drivers must at all times:

  • Respect pit entry and pit exit blend lines
  • Observe strict pit lane speed limits
  • Rejoin safely without impeding oncoming track traffic

In-Game Chat

No text chat is permitted during Qualifying or Race sessions. Chat may resume once all drivers have officially completed their race and crossed the finish line.

Race With Respect

Race With Respect applies at all times whilst connected to the official server (Practice, Qualifying, and Race sessions). Drivers should show consideration to others who may be preparing setups, practising race runs, or completing qualifying simulations. Deliberate contact, retaliation, reckless driving, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

🔵 BLUE FLAGS & MULTI-CLASS RACING

Multi-class racing depends on predictable behaviour.

Faster Class Cars (LMP2)

The responsibility for completing a safe overtake always lies with the faster car. LMP2 drivers should:

  • Plan overtakes in advance
  • Avoid divebombs
  • Avoid forcing slower cars off-line
  • Prioritise exits and straights where possible

Slower Class Cars (LMGT3)

LMGT3 drivers should:

  • Hold a predictable racing line
  • Avoid reactive movements
  • Avoid moving under braking
  • Make intentions clear when yielding

Blue flags are informational. They do not require a driver to leave the circuit or abandon their racing line.

📋 ATTENDANCE & WITHDRAWALS

Real life comes first. Drivers are permitted up to two withdrawals during the season without penalty, provided they sign out of the event via SimGrid before race day. Drivers who record two no-shows without signing out may be disqualified from the championship and removed from the grid to make grid space for active competitors.

🧑‍⚖️ STEWARDING & PROTESTS

Stewarding is conducted post-race using the Positive Perception stewarding workflow. Incidents are not automatically reviewed; if you wish an incident to be investigated, a formal protest must be submitted.

Protest Requirements

Protests must be submitted within 24 hours of the race finishing. Reports must include:

  • Approximate time (or official replay timestamp)
  • Corner / location on circuit
  • Drivers involved
  • Clear description of the incident

Incomplete or vague reports may be rejected without investigation.

Possible Penalties

Warning | Licence Points | Time Penalty | Championship Points Deduction | Race Ban | Championship Ban

🎨 CUSTOM LIVERIES

Positive Perception is proud to be the home of custom liveries. Custom designs are strongly encouraged and welcomed. All liveries must remain suitable for public broadcasts, screenshots, social media, and community viewing. Admins reserve the right to request changes to any livery deemed inappropriate. Discounted livery design services are available for championship competitors.

👤 DRIVER NAMES

Drivers must ensure that their in-game name closely matches their SimGrid registration. This assists with stewarding, results validation, and administration. Failure to comply may result in delays to results processing.

🏆 CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING

Points are awarded in each class. Final championship standings will be based on a driver's best 5 of 6 results.

Tiebreakers

  1. Highest single-round score
  2. Number of race wins
  3. Average qualifying position

🎤 FINAL NOTES

Season 7 brings together one of endurance racing's greatest combinations — the ELMS LMP2 and LMGT3 across six incredible circuits. With up to 38 cars expected on the grid due to track limitations, awareness, patience, and respect for fellow competitors will be more important than ever. Respect the traffic. Race hard, but race fair.

And remember... The Home of Custom Liveries. Because nobody remembers the default paint scheme.
