SDR SPORTING REGULATIONS & RULES SUMMARY

Welcome to the SDR Endurance Tour! All competitors are required to know and follow the rules below. Ignorance of the regulations is not a valid defence.

Full regulations are available at: https://sausagedodgersracing.com/rules

1. RACE STARTS & FORMATION LAP

  • Safety Car Pacing: Maintain a steady pace within 1.5 seconds of the car ahead. The lead car behind the safety car must not exceed 50 mph (80 km/h).
  • No Jump Starts: React strictly to the green flag, not the car in front. Accelerating early, overlapping, or pulling out of line before the green flag is strictly prohibited and heavily penalized.
  • Multiclass Spacing (When Applicable): Trailing classes must maintain a minimum 10-second gap on the formation lap all the way to the start line.

2. OVERTAKING & DEFENDING

  • The Overlap Rule: The attacking car's front axle must be fully alongside the defending car's rear axle before the initial turn-in point to be entitled to racing room.
  • Racing Room: When overlap is established, both inside and outside cars must leave at least one full car width through the corner.
  • Defending: Drivers are allowed ONE defensive move off the line, and ONE move to return, made well before the braking zone. Moving under braking, weaving, or reactionary blocking is strictly forbidden.
  • Blue Flags: Slower and lapped cars must facilitate passes safely and predictably on straights. Defending under blue flags is prohibited.

3. INCIDENTS, REJOINS & FLAGS

  • Accountability: If you cause an incident or gain an unfair advantage via contact, you must concede the position immediately. The following car is 100% responsible for avoiding contact in braking zones.
  • Hold Your Brakes: If you spin or stop, HOLD YOUR BRAKES firmly until all oncoming traffic has cleared.
  • Rejoining: Live on-track traffic has absolute right of way. Rejoin only when clear, at a shallow angle (10–15° max) parallel to the circuit. Severely damaged cars must tow.
  • Yellow Flags: Drivers must reduce speed and prepare to take evasive action. Passing under yellow is strictly prohibited. Failure to slow carries up to a 2 License Point penalty.

4. OFFICIAL PROTEST PROCEDURE

  • Website Only: The old Discord protest ticket channel is retired. All racing incident protests must be submitted exclusively via our website portal: https://sausagedodgersracing.com/protests
  • Deadline: Protests must be filed within 24 hours of race start.
  • Requirements: Submissions must include session info, lap number, multiple clear video replay angles, and an objective description. Max 5 open tickets per driver. Public chat complaints or Discord DMs will not be reviewed.

5. PENALTIES & LICENSE POINTS (LP)

  • Time Penalties: Applied in 5s / 10s / 20s increments due to backend constraints.
  • Global Tracking: License points apply to your unified driver profile and carry across all SDR championships.
    • 1 LP: Weaving/blocking; poor overtakes forcing evasive action; minor avoidable collisions.
    • 2 LP: Moving under braking causing contact; defending under blue flags; failing to hold brakes; failing to slow for yellows; unpredictable pacing.
    • 3 LP: Reckless overtakes / avoidable collisions; unsafe rejoins; brake checking; collisions under yellow; multi-car wrecks; jump starts.

6. BANS & REHABILITATION

  • 6 License Points: Triggers an automatic Qualifying Ban for your next scheduled SDR race, plus a -10 championship point deduction.
  • Serving a Ban: You must remain in pit lane for the entirety of qualifying. Setting a lap results in an immediate session disqualification. Completing your pit-lane start clears 6 points.
  • Rehabilitation: Drivers who race cleanly and avoid stewarding incidents over consecutive rounds are eligible to have active points progressively removed by Race Control.
  • Zero Tolerance: Retaliation, intentional wrecking, or verbal/text abuse results in an immediate race ban and potential server expulsion.
  • 107% Rule: Every Driver will be required to have 'pace' equal to 107% of the class leaders fastest lap, failure to do so will result in race DQ
