🏆 Official Project Motor Racing Event Rulebook
1. Event Schedule & Format
The event consists of three consecutive sessions. Drivers must remain in the server for the duration of the event.
-
Free Practice: Open track time for car setup and track acclimatisation.
-
Qualifying: A timed session to determine the starting grid.
-
The Race: A single 30-lap race using a Standing Start format, featuring one mandatory pit stop.
- Pitstop requirement is Fuel and Tyres
2. Driver Etiquette & On-Track Conduct
-
Track Limits: Drivers must maintain at least two wheels within the white lines defining the track edges at all times. Kerbs are part of the track; grass, gravel, or AstroTurf run-offs are not.
-
Defensive Driving: A defending driver may make only one distinct move to protect their line. Weaving or moving late under braking is strictly prohibited.
-
Overtaking Responsibility: The attacking driver bears the primary responsibility for a safe pass. The defending driver must not act unpredictably or crowd the attacker off the track.
-
Overlap Rule: If the attacking car has a significant overlap (front wheels alongside the defender's cockpit) before the turn-in point, the defender must leave at least one car width of racing room.
-
Safe Rejoins: If you spin or leave the circuit, hold your brakes until the car stops. Check your relative UI / radar and wait for a clear gap before rejoining. Rejoining into oncoming traffic will result in a severe post-race penalty.
3. Session-Specific Rules
🏁 Free Practice
- Use this time to practice off-line driving and pit lane entry/exit transitions.
- Do not intentionally block or race drivers who are putting together fast laps.
⏱️ Qualifying
-
Out-Laps: Drivers on an out-lap must yield the racing line to any driver approaching on a timed hot lap.
-
Spacing: Create a clean gap in front of you before starting your hot lap to avoid impeding others.
-
Incident Recovery: If you crash or invalidate a lap, safely reset to the pits. Do not park or stop on the circuit.
🚦 The Race & Standing Start
-
Grid Alignment: Once on the grid, drivers must remain completely stationary until the start lights go out. Creeping forward will trigger an automated jump-start penalty.
-
Turn 1 Caution: The grid will be tightly packed into the first corner. Drivers must exercise extreme caution, brake earlier than usual, and prioritize survival over high-risk overtaking on Lap 1.
4. Mandatory Pit Stop Regulations
Every driver must complete a minimum of one valid pit stop during the 30-lap race.
-
Pit Window: The pit lane is open for the mandatory stop after the completion of Lap 2, and closes before the final lap of the race.
-
Pit Entry & Exit Blend Lines: Drivers must not cross the solid white blend lines when entering or exiting the pit lane.
-
Pit Lane Speed Limit: The pit limiter must be engaged before crossing the pit entry line and kept active until crossing the pit exit line.
-
Valid Stop Criteria: The car must come to a complete stop in its designated pit box, and pit service tyres & fuel must be completed.
5. Incidents, Penalties & Appeals
💻 In-Game Penalties
- Any automated penalties handed out by Project Motor Racing (e.g., track limit warnings, pit lane speeding, jump starts) must be served in-game and cannot be overturned by the stewards.
📩 Post-Race Incident Reporting
All other on-track incidents will be reviewed by the stewarding panel after the race concludes. To log an incident, drivers must follow these strict criteria:
-
Submission Platform: Reports must be submitted exclusively in the #incident-report Discord channel. (https://discord.gg/rHEgH4ucB)
-
Deadline: Reports must be logged within 12 Hours of the race ending.
-
Required Information: Submissions must include the lap number, time stamp, and the names of the drivers involved.
-
Video Evidence Requirement: Reports must include video footage captured either from a live stream or saved replay.
-
Ideal Submission: Both cockpit views (of the cars involved) and the chase cam view are preferred to provide a clear perspective.
-
Minimum Requirement: A single camera view is better than none, but reports without any video evidence will be automatically dismissed.
⚖️ Penalty Scale
Depending on the severity of the infraction, stewards may issue warning points, post-race time penalties (+5, +10, or +30 seconds added to the final race time), or total event disqualification.
