Rookie Wednesdays are back — and we’re bringing them to Le Mans Ultimate!
TOGA Motorsport is welcoming new and developing drivers to six weeks of LMGT3 racing, with a friendly grid, clear expectations and support as you find your feet.
Whether you’re entering your first organised race, moving across from another sim or still building confidence in LMU, this is your place to learn, compete and get to know the drivers around you.
You don’t need front-running pace. You do need to respect other drivers, prepare for each round and be willing to learn.
This championship is aimed at:
• Drivers new to Le Mans Ultimate.
• Sim racers entering their first organised championship.
• Drivers who find public racing intimidating.
• Developing racers who want to improve their consistency and racecraft.
• Returning TOGA members looking for a welcoming Wednesday night grid.
Being a rookie doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes. It means you’re learning how to handle them responsibly.
Experienced drivers interested in helping should contact the organisers before entering. Our priority is a suitable environment for developing racers, and we may discuss whether the series is the right fit for an entrant.
Six rounds. Six Wednesdays. One regular community to race with.
Round 1 — Fuji, Grand Prix
Find your feet, establish your braking points and get comfortable racing alongside the grid.
Round 2 — Bahrain, Grand Prix
Build confidence under braking and practise leaving room through connected corners.
Round 3 — Monza, Grand Prix
Put your first-lap patience and close-racing awareness to the test at the Temple of Speed.
Round 4 — Silvertsone, Grand Prix
Take on the elevation changes and work on keeping the car balanced and predictable.
Round 5 — Sebring, Full circuit
Focus on consistency, managing the bumps and choosing your overtaking moments carefully.
Round 6 — Spa-Francorchamps, Grand Prix
Bring everything together for our season finale.
Dates: 23rd to 28th October
All six circuits are included in the LMU base game.
We will race LMGT3 only, with one driver per car.
Choose an LMGT3 car you own and aim to use it throughout the championship. If you discover that your choice is making learning unnecessarily difficult, speak to the organisers about changing.
Setups are open. You may use the game’s default setup or your own preferred setup. Buying a setup is not an entry requirement.
You are responsible for loading enough fuel to complete the race, including the formation procedure and a sensible margin. Ask before qualifying if you need help checking this.
19:30 — Practice opens
20:00 — Mandatory driver briefing
20:10 — Qualifying: 10 minutes
Approximately 20:25 — Race: 35 minutes
Times follow UK local time: GMT in winter and BST in summer. Allow a few extra minutes for session transitions and the start procedure.
Practice is your opportunity to settle in, check your equipment and ask questions. During the briefing, stop safely in the pits and listen to the organisers.
You must be able to hear the briefing. Speaking on a microphone is optional.
• One qualifying session and one race per round.
• Qualifying determines the starting order.
• Rolling start, with the procedure explained before the race.
• Dry daylight conditions.
• No mandatory pit stop.
• Normal fuel consumption and tyre wear.
• In-car traction control and ABS available.
• The full permitted-assist settings will be published before Round 1.
Registration takes place on SimGrid. Racing takes place in our Le Mans Ultimate session.
Use recognisable names across SimGrid, Discord and LMU so the organisers can match your entry.
Please practise enough to recognise the circuit, complete consecutive controlled laps and understand where the pit entry and exit are.
There is no target lap time to chase before you can ask for help. If you are struggling to stay on track or feel unsure about joining, contact us before race night so we can help you prepare.
Check your controls, mirrors, audio, fuel and connection before qualifying begins.
Race people the way you would like them to race you.
• Leave room when another car is alongside.
• Brake with extra care in a pack, particularly on the opening lap.
• Make predictable defensive moves and avoid moving under braking.
• Attempt overtakes you can complete while remaining in control.
• If you spin, hold the brakes until it is safe to move.
• Rejoin only when you can do so without forcing another driver to avoid you.
• If being lapped, remain predictable and facilitate the pass safely.
• Follow the game’s flags and penalty instructions.
• Keep voice chat clear during qualifying and racing, except for essential information.
Mistakes will happen. Deliberate contact, retaliation, abuse and repeated dangerous driving are unacceptable.
If something happens, focus on completing your race safely. Please avoid arguments in voice chat or public accusations afterwards.
Submit incidents through the Discord reporting process within 24 hours, including the drivers involved, the lap or timestamp and replay evidence where available.
Organisers will review reports after the event. Depending on the circumstances, outcomes may include advice, a warning, a time penalty or removal from the series for serious or repeated misconduct.
Learning is part of the championship, but other drivers’ races still matter.
Please withdraw from that round or notify the organisers as early as possible so a reserve can take your place.
Missing a Wednesday does not mean you need to leave the championship. Come back for the next round.
A clear briefing before each race, a place to ask questions, consistent expectations and a regular group of drivers to improve alongside.
We’ll make room to recognise progress throughout the field — including clean battles, better consistency and personal milestones.
Your first clean finish matters. So does learning from a tough evening and coming back stronger.
TOGA Motorsport — find your feet, find your confidence, find your racing community.
