Porsche Cup Championship Sporting Regulations

Official Regulations: In the event of any conflict between translated versions of these regulations and the official English version published by the league, the official regulations shall take precedence.

1. Driver Conduct & League Standards

Driver Identification

All competitors must use the same name in Discord and iRacing. Drivers competing under a different identity may be removed from the event.

Respect & Professionalism

All members are expected to conduct themselves professionally both on and off the circuit.

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Harassment or abusive language
  • Public arguments or callouts
  • Personal attacks toward drivers, staff, or Race Control
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior in Discord, voice chat, in-game chat, or private messages relating to league events

Any concerns must be handled through the official stewarding process.

Driver Responsibility

Every driver is responsible for avoiding unnecessary contact.

The objective is to complete every race with clean, respectful competition. If you cause another competitor to lose time or position through your actions, you are expected to return the position when it is safe and practical to do so.

2. Racing Standards

Overtaking

The responsibility for executing a pass safely rests primarily with the overtaking driver.

A passing car earns racing room only when a significant overlap exists before turn-in. Divebombs, unrealistic late-braking attempts, and avoidable contact are prohibited.

Defending

Drivers may make one defensive move on a straight.

The following are prohibited:

  • Multiple defensive moves
  • Weaving to break the tow
  • Moving while braking
  • Forcing another driver beyond track limits

Track Limits

Drivers must make every reasonable effort to remain within circuit boundaries.

If leaving the racing surface results in a lasting advantage, that advantage must be relinquished immediately.

Unsafe rejoins that interfere with another competitor may receive significant penalties.

Spins & Loss of Control

Drivers involved in a spin or incident should hold the brakes whenever possible until it is safe to continue. Predictable vehicle movement helps prevent secondary collisions.

Yellow Flag Procedure

When approaching an incident:

  • Slow appropriately.
  • Be prepared to avoid stopped or damaged cars.
  • Overtaking under local yellow conditions is prohibited unless specifically allowed by iRacing or directed by Race Control.

3. Fast Repair

Each driver is allocated one (1) Fast Repair per race.

Fast Repairs are intended for major damage or unavoidable incidents—not as a strategic tool.

Race Control reserves the right to review any suspected abuse. Decisions regarding Fast Repair usage are final.

4. Blue Flag Procedure

Blue flags serve as a courtesy notification.

Drivers being lapped should:

  • Maintain a predictable racing line.
  • Avoid unnecessary defensive actions.
  • Assist the faster car when it can be done safely without compromising their own race.

Drivers overtaking slower traffic should exercise patience and avoid forcing dangerous situations.

Headlight flashing is permitted as a courtesy signal only. Excessive flashing intended to distract another competitor may be penalized.

5. Qualifying & Pit Lane

Qualifying

Drivers must:

  • Leave adequate space to the car ahead on their out lap.
  • Yield immediately to cars on flying laps.
  • Avoid intentionally creating traffic or blocking competitors.

Pit Entry & Exit

Drivers entering or exiting pit lane must remain inside the designated blend lines.

Unsafe pit exits or dangerous merges into traffic may result in penalties.

After the Checkered Flag

Following the finish:

  • Complete the cooldown lap safely.
  • Avoid unnecessary contact.
  • Return to pit lane in a controlled manner.

Any intentional contact after the checkered flag will be treated as misconduct.

6. Race Control & Incident Review

Live Race Control

Race Control has full authority over all sporting decisions during official sessions.

Instructions issued by Race Control must be followed immediately.

Steward Respect

Abusive behavior toward Race Control or league officials will not be tolerated.

Publicly arguing stewarding decisions or attempting to influence investigations may result in additional disciplinary action beyond the original incident.

Replay Recording

Every driver is strongly encouraged to record their race locally with the relative/radar and delta visible.

If Race Control requests footage during an investigation and it cannot be provided, a penalty of 5–30 seconds may be applied at the stewards' discretion.

Incident Reports

Post-race protests must be submitted through the official SimGrid Incident System.

Incident submissions close 24 hours after the completion of the event.

Failure to Cooperate

Drivers who fail to respond to steward requests or refuse to provide requested evidence may receive escalating disciplinary action, including:

  • Time penalties
  • Qualifying suspensions
  • Race suspensions
  • Championship exclusion
  • Removal from the league

7. Final Authority

Participation in the championship constitutes acceptance of these regulations.

Race Control and League Administration reserve the right to interpret, amend, or enforce these regulations whenever necessary to preserve fair competition, sporting integrity, and the overall quality of the championship.
