Race Regulations

Penalty System

The event uses the Le Mans Ultimate (LMU) Default Penalty System (Normal).

Race Control may issue additional penalties for behavior not adequately covered by the in-game penalty system.

Qualifying

Qualifying will be held as an Open Track session.

Priority During Flying Laps

A car on a Flying Lap has priority over any car on an Out Lap, Preparation Lap, or any lap that is no longer a valid qualifying attempt.

A driver already on a Flying Lap does not have to give way simply because another Flying Lap car catches them from behind.

Drivers approaching slower traffic are responsible for creating an appropriate gap before beginning their qualifying lap.

Drivers who are not on a Flying Lap must safely and promptly move off the racing line to avoid interfering with qualifying attempts.

Flying Lap

A Flying Lap is defined as a lap where:

  • The driver is making a qualifying attempt.
  • The current lap is capable of improving the driver's best time.
  • Even if the current sector delta is temporarily slower (red), the lap is still considered a Flying Lap as long as improving the overall lap time remains possible.

Preparation Lap

A Preparation Lap includes:

  • Out laps.
  • In laps.
  • Invalid laps.
  • Any lap that has no realistic possibility of improving the driver's best time.

Safety Car Regulations

The Safety Car procedure generally follows the NDS5 Regulations.

During Safety Car

Drivers must:

  • Maintain their race position.
  • Temporary position changes are permitted only when necessary for safety.
  • Follow the speed instructed by Race Control while behind the Safety Car or Race Leader.
  • If a gap opens ahead, drivers must safely close the gap as quickly as practical.

Deliberately delaying the field or significantly hindering other competitors may result in additional penalties.

Race Restart Procedure

When the Safety Car returns to the pits, pace control is transferred to the Race Leader.

The Race Leader should maintain approximately 150 km/h unless otherwise instructed by Race Control.

The Race Leader may accelerate at any point between the exit of the final corner and the Control Line.

For circuits where the final corner is a chicane, the entire chicane is considered part of the final corner.

Once the Race Leader accelerates, the race is considered restarted.

From that moment, overtaking is permitted for any cars that have exited the final corner and are within the restart zone.

Restart Conduct

Drivers should avoid unnecessary braking or deceptive brake-light tactics after exiting the final corner.

If Race Control determines that a restart created unnecessary confusion or was intentionally misleading, a restart procedure penalty may be applied.
